Resurgent India is a non-profit, non-governmental, charitable trust registered in the state of Karnataka.
It was founded by Professor Rajeev Gowda, who is on the faculty of the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore.
Energize the Campus: Careers and Futures Initiative
The spectacular transformation of the Indian economy is unleashing career opportunities in every field of endeavor. India’s youth can now pursue careers that best match their talents and passions. But discovering talents, identifying passions, and experimenting, experiencing and learning about options requires more information and analysis than is normally provided in a school or college environment.
Therefore, Resurgent India has launched a Careers and Futures initiative. We will conduct programs on campuses that will include aptitude testing, career guidance, personality development, and interaction with mentors. This initiative aims to ensure that students make informed choices about their futures, while also learning how to enhance their soft skills and leadership abilities.
Professor Rajeev Gowda
Profile
Professor Rajeev Gowda teaches Economics and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore. His schooling was in Bangalore, at St. Joseph’s Boys High School. He obtained his BA in History, Economics, and Political Science at St. Joseph’s College, and received the University Gold Medal in Political Science. He has an MA in Economics from Fordham University and a PhD in Public Policy and Management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Gowda has worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and as Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma. He returned to India in 2000, after more than 16 years in the USA and joined the IIM-Bangalore faculty. He currently runs the International Master’s for Practicing Managers program for IIM-B.
Dr. Gowda’s last edited book was “Judgments, Decisions, and Public Policy,” published by Cambridge University Press. He regularly writes articles both for academic journals and the popular press.
Professor Gowda is building the Resurgent India Trust which aims to empower youth, energize campuses, and enhance employability. He also aims to transform Indian politics through active participation. Dr. Gowda is an avid quizzer and was national runner-up on BBC TV’s Mastermind India in 2001.
